There are couple of options, to start with try:

Option 1
• Right-click on the Desktop, select View.
• Make sure Auto arrange icons is UNchecked. Make sure Align icons to grid is UNchecked as well.
• Reboot and see if that helps.

Note: for Thanks etc. hit the heart shaped button .

Option 2

• Press Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog. Type: %userprofile% and click OK.

• Your User folder will open.
• Make sure that hidden items are visible by clicking the View tab > place a checkmark in the box Hidden items within the Show/hide group.
• Next, open the AppData folder.

• Open the Local folder.
• Within the Local folder select the IconCache file and click Delete.
• Now arrange your icons on your desktop and restart your computer.

Try this:

• Prevent themes from changing the icons.
• To do this, go to the Control Panel. (Right-click Start (Windows icon) > Select Control Panel)
• At the Control Panel, find Appearance and Personalization >Personalization
• Open the Desktop Icon Settings box.
• Near the bottom left of that box, UNcheck Allow themes to change desktop icons, click Apply > OK to exit.

And don’t worry, I will help you out with this issue

If you are comfortable tweaking the registry, then follow this:

In Run > Regedit... Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

Then create Key Explorer.

Add new DWORD value NoSaveSettings and set to 0.

Restart Computer...

There is an entry already there called Explorer. Do you mean that one or create a new one called Key Explorer?

If the key Explorer exists, then  Add new DWORD value NoSaveSettings and set to 0.

Could be because of the graphic card driver , try to update them.

If that doesn’t work, you could uninstall it and re-Install thereafter.

Further, you could try sfc /scannow

to check the file system of windows.

Even if you have a new install of Windows 10, it still might help. After all, you may have changed some settings that affected your desktop icons.

Using system restore as a first option and resetting windows as a last resort is a much better option than doing a fresh install just to fix your current problem.
