Polish AVLab tested 10 web browser extensions which filter network traffic by blocking malicious content:

Avast Online Security
Avira Browser Safety
Bitdefender TrafficLight
Check Point SandBlast Agent for Browser*
Comodo Online Security
Malwarebytes Browser Extension
McAfee WebAdvisor
Panda Safe Web
uBlock Origin**
Windows Defender Browser Protection

 

* Free version of Check Point Sandblast Agent for Browser version protects you only from phishing attacks
** Used lists: Malvertising filter list by Disconnect, Malware Domain List, Malware domains, Spam404

 

 

Paid Check Point Sandblast Agent for Browser blocked everything, uBlock Origin nothing. Others blocked about 95 % of test threats. Surprisingly, best in this test was Malwarebytes scoring 98 %.
