LeetPirate
<img src="/images/logos/uTor.png" class="logo" alt="µTorrent" title="µTorrent" />µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. With µTorrent, you can download files faster and contribute by sharing files and bandwidth. Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange. Thanks to Cultivator for the update.Download
silencer
2.1 is alpha, not beta.
LeetPirate
2.1 is alpha, not beta.It could be a back and forth argument, some will say alpha, some will say beta. Confusion comes from the author page itself. The changelog and filename suggests beta, the topic heading says alpha. I don't know which it is but I went with the filename. Here's an alpha for µTorrent 2.1. This release has multiple fixes in it new to the 2.1 tree. It is not feature complete.Download here: http://download.utorrent.com/beta/utorrent-2.1-beta-16932.upx.exe-- 2009-10-15: Version 2.1 Beta (build 16932)- Fix: Accounting of halfopen https connections would cause uT to stop making new connections- Change: Made the DHT compatible with future extensions- Fix: sometimes the &ip= parameter sent to trackers would be incorrect- Fix: correctly order bencoded dict items in extension handshake message- Fix: fixed holepunch error handling and support detection- Fix: check invalid ports and IPs in the DNS resolver to avoid using them- Fix: various polishing on the setup guide- Fix: potential crash related to TLS not being initialized- Change: Better handle torrents with files having case insensitive equivalent paths- Feature: support trackers and web seeds in magnet links- Change: Redirect WebUI requests from /gui to /gui/- Change: Disable installer for Wine- Change: Balance CDNs to download updates- Fix: Fixes bug where magnet links wouldn't work if PEX was disabled- Fix: potential crash in network code- Fix: More crashes when using magnet links- Fix: Port settings saved in Setup guide- Change: Updated helpfile links to use redirects- Feature: added RSS feeds and filters to WebUI- Fix: fixed crashes in setup guide- Fix: greyout custom toolbar with transparency- Change: Disable Ask for unsupported 64-bit Windows- Fix: fixed UDP-tracker crash when dns resolution would fail- Change: Use user-supplied port in Setup Guide, save auto-portmap prefs.- Change: Added European Servers in Setup Guide- Change: New Icons in Setup Guide- Fix: Improper mutex accounting in hang detector- Fix: crash when creating torrents Last edited by Firon (16-Oct-2009 00:45:23) If anyone tries it out, please report if the actual application says alpha or beta. I will correct the title if it is wrong on my part.

SacredCultivator
From the changelog, if anything, it's basically 2.0 with a few newer fixes, for now. NOt sure if they'll be adding new features to this version yet.Haven't tried it.---EDIT:Gave it a shot.. and damnit... My settings for what i want displayed got reset, and overwritten since switching back to 2.0 didn't help... And I noticed a new feature "DNA", Read the "Learn More" sounds good. But I do get a weird error when i first start it upIt is spammed with:[07:44:03] Error -1 occurred while attempting to get stream metainfo
HATE9X
I noticed a new feature "DNA", Read the "Learn More" sounds good.DNA in uTorrent? then it's basically Bittorrent.. :fear:
SacredCultivator
The Read Me is on Bittorents site =PI'm not 100% clear as to how it works though, even after reading about it.
Administrator DKT27 Posted October 16, 2009 Administrator Share Posted October 16, 2009 DNA. :fear: DNA sucks. It used to come with BitTorrent. If uTorrent is adding DNA, I will never use it again.

Administrator DKT27 Posted October 16, 2009 Administrator Share Posted October 16, 2009 Forget what BitTorrent says. It sucks. It occupies your bandwidth, slows down your connection, always runs in backgroung, even when you are not seedin/downloadin anything.
SacredCultivator
Well then, disabled it is.
Administrator DKT27 Posted October 16, 2009 Administrator Share Posted October 16, 2009 Disabling can be the only option but it also troubles your torrent client if you do so.
SacredCultivator
Man... Really? Lol so should I enable it or disable.. As I'm 'new' to whatever this "DNA" is.
Administrator DKT27 Posted October 16, 2009 Administrator Share Posted October 16, 2009 Keep it disabled. There is nothin else you can do.
silencer
Ok, so I stick to 2.0 beta... ;P 2.1 will wait till everything will be clear. ;)
LeetPirate
Ok, so I stick to 2.0 beta... ;P 2.1 will wait till everything will be clear. ;)I have to stick to 1.8.4. :( I can't even use 2.0 because it still crashes everytime I start it. Possibly because of the high number of torrents I have on the list, it seems to work fine on another machine with fewer torrents. I won't even dare to try 2.1 as yet. SacredCultivator
If it matters, the current 2.1 is 2.0 with a few newer fixes. And there will be no more features added to 2.0, so all new features are going towards 2.1Quite stable for me... except for one small bug, but it doens't affect much
