The thread referenced on the OP was closed for bearing Bitly links on the grounds that Bitly links are cash-affiliate — to the best of my knowledge . . . . . Bitly is a URL shortener not a cash affiliate.

 

The merits/demerits of Bitly links or of any other URL shortener are irrelevant to this conversation — nowhere on the guidelines of nSane is it stated that URL shorteners aren't permitted.

 

Rules apart, the OP itself (of that concerned topic) bears over 45 likes and more than 50 folks are following that conversation (as of typing this post) — locking it should've been the last resort . . . . . suspect we need to learn to lend a more personal touch to conversations (especially to proven members) on a case-to-case basis (personally, have no vested interests whatsoever, in the said thread — KMS . . . . . personally, is just not my style.)

 

Those who lack the requisite skill-set to deal with the above faux-pas might want to give-in to their irresistible itch . . . . . lock this thread, as well — and, prove my suspicion right.

maybe u no did wrong but it  seems admins no like it so best change  it when u inbox them about it  maybe when links changed topic  open

i am ok with or with out bit.ly  i think the problems is the tracking  part  i mean if it gets oked then what next we all start to tracking  everyones download and when clicked and what time and from were  i think its not best things to do

y did coua use it its to tracking  peoples downloads

much sites can make links smaller but y use just this one  ?

again its the tracking the problems i think not about money   but it have two versions one is free and one  is not free

so if coua use the paid version y ?

and if free version y not change it  to sites like it  again its tracking is what people want gone

"Tracking" has got nothing to do with "cash-affiliation" — those are two distinctly different terms.

 

FYI, there's no site that does not possess tracking capabilities — some may allow the User to view the tracked activity upon payment, others may do the same for free and then some may not permit any sort of transparent viewership.

from what i see alot of sites that  make links smaller   do not tell u when it was download and what time and from what countrys

if i posts links do u think if ok if i can see all this  when u cllicked it and what time and what country  and maybe more ?

this bitly  have 2 versions a paid one and free  what it means   y will people want to paid to use bitly  ?  from what i see on the site bitly  on free version it show much things so maybe like your comment  if paid users of the site maybe get more info  now the problems is y will people want to use the paid one  more info i think  its right ?

and y use a paid version to give us the user somethingn for free ? it make crazy thinking  not saying he use paid version but he not say he not  i asked this 2 or 3 times and never comment back to for me it say its about Tracking what can it be ?
