Anyone run into this problem or know how to solve it; get OS lockup about every 4-5 mins on both win 10 pro and enterprise. Ran DISM and all well but SFC will not complete before os crashes. Hve contacted ten forum but still searching for help. Currently operating on win 7 without a lot of my daily use programs and for some stange reason one of my extra drives does not show both haves as partitioned. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

When the OS crashes (BSOD?) while running SFC what is the error message?  Storport is a server driver introduced with Server 2003 and included in Windows 10 for high speed buses like fibre channel and raid.

There a couple things you can try.  The first is a clean boot.  In case you don't know how to do it here are the instructions.  After that are instructions for another way to check your system.

How to perform a clean boot

Though the steps below might look complicated at first glance, just follow them in order, step-by-step, and we’ll try to get you back on track.

Use the following steps to perform a clean boot in Windows 10.

1.  Sign in to the computer as an administrator.  For more info, see Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

2.  Click Start, and type msconfig.

3.  Select System Configuration from the search results.

Important If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We strongly recommend that you don’t use the System Configuration utility to change the advanced boot options on the computer unless a Microsoft support engineer directs you to do this. Doing this may make the computer unusable.

4.  On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.

5.  On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.

6.  On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.

7.  Close Task Manager.

8.  On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.  Once the computer restarts in a clean boot environment, you can follow troubleshooting steps to install, uninstall, or run your application.  Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality while in a clean boot environment, however that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after you have finished your troubleshooting.

If that didn't help then try this:

1.  Open the Task manager.  Here’s a tip:  Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.

2.  Click File > Run New Task

3.  Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”

4.  Type CMD

5.  Type the following 4 commands at the Command Prompt:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow
powershell
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

6.  Close the CMD window.

7.  Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.

  1. Do you really want to say that you have on the same computer Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise, and Windows 7 unknown?
  2. If You cannot run sfc.exe /scannow and it crashes, then Your Windows is fully damaged and needs clean install, there is nothing to repair.
  3. This problem, what You said, is usually caused by bad or wrong driver, damaged windows or there is some kind of software conflict.
  4. PS. Can You run Your Windows in safe mode? And have You tried to run sfc in safe mode?

What I have removable drive so I can run many different OSs from same pc. But I may have fixed the problem  after I discovered that it was related to the  sata cable being loose, fixed cable, restored to earlier date and am now running the win 10 ent os. And so far it's working. Hopefully it will continue on. Will update.
