Katzenfreund Posted September 29, 2018 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Maigret (2016- ) This production of Maigret is a British television series from ITV set in mid-1950s in France, mainly Paris. It is an adaptation of the books by Georges Simenon featuring his French Chief Inspector Jules Maigret, who is played by Rowan Atkinson. Maigret is not your typical super modern, high action series. It’s rather easy going, set in ordinary surroundings and dealing with ordinary people. Some may say that it lacks adrenaline excitement, but I find that it preserves my nerves and peace of mind, so that I can go to sleep after watching it, without being disturbed by cliffhanging situations. On the negative side of this production, I don’t think much of the choice of Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean) to portray the hero.
