[SOLVED] Wireless network connected but no Internet Access

Loboron

Recommended Posts

This just started a couple days ago.... after I boot up my laptop, the icon on the task bar shows the Yellow Exclamation and says "MY (SID) is connected but no internet access"  I'm currently on line using my VPN.  I've searched the web for trouble shooting and I've performed all the items to resolve the issue, i.e. I've reset my modem & router, with Eset, I've disable the firewall, checked all the connections for good connections and it still says Connected but no Internet access. I even checked for current network adapter, says my current software is up to date.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Ron

@Loboron  If you have an ethernet connection and not just Wi-Fi connection, should be the settings incorrect. If you can not manually select them or don't know what to select,, run the Throubleshooter. If it also does not help, check if you are using the correct password.
But if You don't have connection also with ethernet (with wire, cord), then take contact with sevice provider. If You have connection using the cord, is local problem and service provider cannot help You any way.

If You think so, then at first restart computer. If problem exist, run troubleshooter. If it cannot repair, it will give You recommendations. If there also isn't nothing, what can help, reinstall wireless adapter driver.

In the device manger I found two (2) WiFi adapters, I deleted one and rebooted.   Right now it appears to be working.

Thank you all for your input and valuable advice

It would be good if you could figure out why there were two.
The reason why I suggest to to this - the problem may happen again if the cause is not eliminated.

Good luck to You!

This morning when I booted my laptop the issue remains... connected but no internet access.

The Adguard software is version is 6.3

AdGuard does not interfere with internet connection unless you pee on it (AdGuard) with all your might. :P

Do you by any chance have DnsCrypt running on the affected system.

It will not disappear anywhere until you've eradicated the cause.
True, Trobleshooter can sometimes resolve the situation, but the damaged Windows does not save the settings and everything repeats again at the next startup.

You have to find what causes the problem, because nobody knows what you have done with your computer. For example, until now, nobody knew that you have Adguard installed, nor do we know what changes you have made in your computer, which malicious programs are installed and so on.
First, restore the original Windows settings and registry, remove all junk programs, check and, if necessary, repair Windows files, etc.

As long as you have not eliminated the cause, nothing will change.

Yes, excessive filters can slow down browsing — but . . . . . only a faulty rule (peeing on AdGuard) would break the internet connection.

I really appreciate all the input and advice....   just for info:

I'm using Windows 7, I use Eset Endpoint Security, V 6.4. 2014, Adguard 6.3

I've disabled all the above and and still no connection to the internet. When I reboot the laptop after disabling the above it works fine until I shut it down and restart.
