I'd like to share a short list of useful Chrome Extensions.

I would not categorize these extensions as "essential" but they are handy.

My goal is to share quality-of-life extensions that are seemingly lesser-known.

  1. Backspace to go Back
    • Restores browser behavior of navigating to previous page when pressing the Backspace key.
  2. Death To _blank
    • Keeps links from opening new tabs by removing the _blank attribute.
  3. Disable Download Bar
    • Removes the download bar at the bottom of Chrome windows and nothing else.
  4. Friend Remover PRO
    • Quickly and easily mass-delete friends from Facebook.
  5. I'm a Gentleman
    • Easily save images with a click, gestures or the extension button.
  6. Incognito-Filter
    • Automatically open specific websites in a sandboxed Incognito Window.
  7. Quick Scroll
    • Creates easily-accessible icons for instantly scrolling to the top of bottom of a page.
  8. SearchPreview
    • Enhances your search pages by inserting preview images and popularity ranks.
  9. SimpleClear
    • A handy way to clear cache, cookies, downloads and history.
  10. SimpleExtManager
    • A simple menu to enable, disable and access options of installed extensions.

Instead of BehindTheOverlay I use Poper Blocker which also blocks overlays, same with uBlock to some extent. I'm sure some of my Tampermonkey scripts do, too.

Shouldn't need WebRTC Leak Prevent if you use uBlock Origin.

I use the following extensions in various portable releases of chrome based browsers and turn them on as needed.  These were captured in Comodo Dragon in normal mode.

Dude, maybe you missed this: https://www.techspot.com/news/75708-over-11000000-people-have-installed-spyware-big-star.html

I removed poperblocker months ago.....spyware...why its still on Chromes store you'll have to ask Google...not the first extension thats bad that still lives on there....why do you think i do not use Chrome/chromium full time...less secure more data siphoning a browser there isnt

Im aware you can block WebRTC from uBlock settings, i have been in IT for probably longer than youve been alive so i do know what im doing :), the reason i have a separate extension is i need to toggle WebRTC on to admin a cloud Unifi controller which will not work for some needed functions without WebRTC...the separate extension toggle in the tool bar is invaluable. I always have reasons for how and why i do things :)

Hello everyone. @stylemessiah I was looking on the extensions you guys posted here and that Web Boost really made my pages load faster after a few tries. Since its last update was back in 2016 I'm wondering if it still fully working with latest Chrome or if is there any similar extension that is getting updates lately. I also would like to know if it's compatible with HTTPS Everywhere, Privacy Badger and Decentraleyes if anyone can tell me, please.

Thank you all for the suggestions here, I have added a few on my list :)

Thank you for the information. And I meant no disrespect. I was merely sharing my view on the matter and in doing so, have prompted you to educate me. So no harm done. That's why I created this topic. I am interested in which extensions others use and why. And you have provided insight into both 8)
