CCleaner 5.46.6652

CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!

Thanks to SalaR for the update.

Just about to post something so outrageous that it's gonna make everybody mad at me. :tooth:

CCleaner 5.45.6611 . . . . .  the previous version that drove this community crazy — well, I discovered that it has a feature that's most suitable for SysAdmins and have decided to downgrade to that version. 8)

I still have this installed on WIN 10 x64. PITA.  I think I had to do a registry edit in order to eliminate the background process from running. What's the advantage for SysAdmins?

SysAdmins don't want to eliminate the background monitoring characteristic of CCleaner — that's the only way to ensure that client machines are kept spruced-up, of debris (remember we accept payment for doing that, on their behalf.)

Now, the 5.45.6611 has a (different) feature that's especially endearing to (real) SysAdmins — c'mon just take a look under the hood (since you say you're already running that version.)

Well... not interested into the SysAdmin things...

What about the telemetry and stuff running in the background? Is it over or not?

Edit:

Not better according to vissha: "This release is just undo, rename and mainly to confuse user+no way to avoid telemetry->no user control->stubborn factsheet like FB-Google-MS Policies to continue data mining and data collection. There is nothing better, if this is the real changelog."

Telemetry is over, a long time ago — but, only for those . . . . . who those who know what to block and how to block it.

dualstack.f3.shared.global.fastly.net   ?

plus it seem ccleaner call home when u click on boxs now

and it seems to call home at 1130 pm  ?

it call home much times  when not needed for ?

plus  they say this We do not share any data with third parties but we do analyze some data using Google Analytics

but i think its real like this https://i.imgur.com/9lFF0f0.png

not as they say

but i read this more

Usage Data

Basic interaction with CCleaner (views, button clicks), performance indicators (e.g. amount of junk cleaned)

It helps us understand how CCleaner is used so we can give you a better user experience by:

  • Improving product features (and developing new ones)
  • Improving interface design
  • Identifying the causes of technical issues so we can fix them
  • Letting us know if we’re doing things right (if you’re cleaning lots, you probably like CCleaner!)

so it means they see what is been cleaned from bin   but still cant fix it right ?

but this site users no seem happy with avast

Yesterday, when I installed the latest version I reviewed the "Privacy" settings.

Everything looks fine, I have not modified something:

Hey Man,

Nice to see you! ^_^

Yes, guess I have those options because I have not installed the free version.
Try any other version, and see if you will get more.....

Take care, Bro! ;)

Well Bro,

I am not willing to study this crap for the rest of the life. I have to do any other things....

I do not have any concerns about it: My Pi-hole takes care about everything. Even when I am away I use it because I have a vpn connection with my home network, even on my smartphone. :P

Guess it is a waste of time. Looks like those "boxes" are only cosmetic things, in fact them do not act in any way, as you can see from the above screenshots. ;)

Guess you want to say those boxes are "fakes" as long as I have not had nor even one checked, at least from yesterday, and, even so, today Ccleaner is trying to send data, without any records into my W10FC....

Is this right?

Do you truly believe that un-checking those 4 boxes brings pangs of remorse to the CCleaner team . . . . . which then causes all the telemetry to cease? tx38TOr.gif

i see what ccleaner team is doing but  what they is doing is wrong they trying to hide things and rename things    u have to ask y

plus i am sure ccleaner have been hacked on  more then the versions they talked about

i like ccleaner program but real it need big work on it to fix all or most bugs  but it seem they have time to hide little boxs and not fix it so it can remove files from bin   i not like how ccleaner works now   its not right  i mean it just not good nomore with cleaning files from bin  ot make me think y they not want people to real remove files from bin   and with the info it send back to they and more its just not looking good  the boxs that is hide  on most version now is part with avast it call them  plus nowdays they see when u click or unclick boxs  or u not block it  the info it gets it real crazy plus ccleaner team not think about people  who have limted data  this program   will eat data   this need to stop i think  they real need to rethink what they is doing to a good program i hate to see  this  as i like ccleaner but dam they play games or just cant fix it right or not want to ?

Even when none of those privacy boxes were created by the CCleaner team, the app. was calling home — trust me . . . . . have been pimping the app's intestines long before some people even started using it. :P

The only difference is that, today — it's calling home . . . . . to 2 different step-parents.

Well,

I am not the smartest man from the world, not sure if I am right, but I think I have a response here: because the data collection process brings money for them....

This is the main reson for which they still have a "free" version and the keys for paid versions can be found even on the toilet paper....?
