rasbridge
I switched my internet service yesterday from Centurylink (20 Mbps download) to Comcast (150 Mbps). Nothing else changed. Immediately, though, my internet speed when using my VPN dropped dramatically even though my new download speed from Comcast was supposed to be 7 times faster than Centurylink. Typically, with Centurylink my actual download speed dropped from about 18 Mbps to about 16 Mbps when using my VPN (boxpn) from. However, with Comcast my actual download speed drops from about 150 Mbps down to only 6 Mbps. So, to me, it is clear that Comcast is throttling my VPN traffic. Since my intent was to increase my download speed NOT decrease it, does anyone know of a way to circumvent Comcast's throttling? If so, please advise. Thank you. Rekkio
If you use OpenVPN, try a different port like 443 or 80 instead of 1194. Otherwise try your VPN's stealth mode (the option that masks the VPN traffic).
