I have purchased a lot of refurbished laptops from Dell's Outlet, but only Latitudes, not Inspirons.   When I say a lot, probably over 50, and only had 1 to go bad.  And that time I called Dell and they had a tech out the next day with a new motherboard. They probably lost money on that one.  Most of the laptops came with a full 3 year warranty also.   I have bought a laptop that sold new for $2200 for less than $700 and still use it everyday.  And a caveat, I only buy i7 based systems, since the refurbished systems are usually older models and I want them with a fast processor.  Drives and Ram I can upgrade myself when the time comes.  Also these systems are not used for gaming, they would probably work, but for gaming I buy  new custom laptops.   I know people who also swear by HP refurbished systems, though I have never bought one personally.  I have an HP refurbished laptop that was given to me 4 or 5 years ago and it still works.

worked in retail before just make sure you get at least 12 months warranty

and that you can return it within 14-30 days.

when i bought a dell inspiron i was even able to extend the warranty 2 more

years. when it was new i had up to 8 hours battery life now it's around 6.

i've had the mechanical disk (hdd) changed once. they sent a teenager wearing

converse and well worn jeans and replaced it at my home. ?

got a free usb pen with windows 10.

sometimes depending on the price you might score a refurbished price is even

cheaper than buying the items separately.

Be certain what you spend your money on is "factory refurbished" or "manufacturer refurbished" --  not "seller refurbished".

I bought a Lenovo thinkpad off ebay, no hard drive, no hdd caddy, no ac adapter with an i3 cpu and 4gb ram from a seller with good high numbers of reputation.  Looks like it was brand new even though it was a couple years old.   $59 delivered I think.  He had 55 for sale.     Ordered a 2nd one quickly so I'd have a backup.   Installed an i7 cpu, ssd drive, 16gb ram and upgraded the display to full hd and bought it an ac adapter for maybe 10 bucks.   All parts I had except the display and ac adapter which combines was about same price as the laptop.

Thing has kept me happy for about two years with no problems.
