12 Worst Action Movies Ever Made

Not all action movies get to be as good as Die Hard. Actually, not even all Die Hard movies get to be as good as Die Hard. And while most action movies are solid fun that provide audiences with a simple sense of escapism, some of them are just plain bad.

They do try, though! There's punching and shooting, violence and nudity, cops and robbers, vigilantes, mercenaries, terrorists and street punks. If the movie is feeling especially crazy, it may throw in a few ninjas, or even some sort of killer robot. But due to the lack of talent involved, budgetary restraints, or both, the result merely reminds us of other, better movies.

In this special, synthesizer-scored, mullet-wearing edition, Screen Rant proudly presents our list of the 12 Worst Action Movies Ever Made.

For fun reading, browse the listing  here but I anticipate that you will be somewhat disapponted not seeing any well known title.

As for my personal opinion, I enjoyed reading the article but deeply disagree with this listing because, basically, makes no sense to select some unrated low-budget crappy productions which don't even can be called "B-rated" to get a listing of "worst". I've seen dozens of HORRIBLY AWFUL action movies on Fox Action cable TV, from rated directors, actors and studios, so to include a movie in a "worst" listing, it should comply with some minimal criteria. My typical example for a "worst" listing might be Escape from L.A. (also known as John Carpenter's Escape from L.A. or Escape from Los Angeles); a 1996 American post-apocalyptic action film co-written, co-scored, and directed by John Carpenter, co-written and produced by Debra Hill and Kurt Russell, with Russell also starring as Snake Plissken. It's about the most idiotic, incoherent movie I've seen lately; if it wouldn't be "serious" might have passes as a parody! Escape from L.A. grossed $25,477,365 from its $50 million budget. Certainly, some very badly spent money!

So if you have any interesting contribution for some well known and documented "WORSE", might be some real fun!

I'm a total movie fan, I mean I love movies, action, romance, history, sci-fi, terror, drama, you name it. I've seen some bad movies in my life but I'm glad to say I haven't seen any on that list......and I don't intend to see any of them. My "turkey" sense almost never lets me down. I find a combination of IMDB ratings and reviews plus my viewing acquired knowledge of actors and directors helps me avoid the awful stuff that gets rushed out to cash in on whatever genre is currently popular....remember when Star Wars was the big sensation and suddenly every second movie on VHS was a rip-off of that movie? The customer base was out there , desperate for more laser sword and blaster fights and the film studios obliged...as Winston Churchill said, never has so much dross been watched so often by so many!!! lol ???

When I read that list and reviews,  my conclusion was that probably none of them was ever showed in a decent cinema and for sure I never would have rented any of those but the really great deceptions are actually with some of those "action" movies by some so called recognized "stars" or directors, where producers spent millions, advertised and promoted, many times with the complicity of the critics and commentarists. You watch the movie which starts with some exciting proposal but as it goes on you begin asking yourself "what the hell is this", "wht's really happening" or simply concluding "this is a meanles and crazy argument", and when the movie ends you ask yourself what kind of idiot wrote this and spent millions to produce it.

When kid, I lived some years in Uruguay. In Montevideo,  there were many cinemas showing 2, 3 or even 4 movies in one session; sometimes I started watching movies as 2 pm until 7 - 8 pm! In those sessions I remember having seen in cinema some  REALLY BAD movies And never left the theatre because I expected to watch one or two more shows which promised to be better. Later I found out thas some of those memorably bad movies were by Ed Woods!

Luisam...the one and only Ed Woods..."Plan 9 From Outer Space" etc etc...what a guy!! lol. Although the Johnny Depp biography of Ed Woods was really good/funny.

My earliest memories of the cinema are of me at about 4 years old sitting on my father's knees with a coat over my pajamas ('cos it was in the evening when he got back from work) watching Steve Reeves "Hercules" or "Goliath" movies in the local cinema which was only 50 yards from our house!!!

My idea of heaven is a 10 screen multiplex playing movies non-stop for eternity!!!???

I only watched Sidaris films for the SOFT CORE PRON that it offered.. Movie with Playboy Playmates were rare so why not :)

I'm sure a lot of hot blooded males love Erika Eleniak Pop out of the cake in the first Under Siege movie :)

You are quite right abut this. Most SOFT CORE movie watchers don't care much about the "logic" behind the action scenes; they are more interested in the hot scenes
