Topoy
VeloRAM is a block level RAM cache System. It caches any storage Volume content on SSD or HDD. It is not persistant. It is fast like a Ram Disk, Capacity like SSD or HDD. Allowing highest IOPS / MBPS values. VeloRAM is a block level RAM Cache for any Storage Volumes. It is fast like a RAM Disk. Accelerates even SSDs. Allowing highest IOPS / MBPS scores. Client compatibility starts with Windows 7 up to Windows 10. Server Compatibility starts with Windows Server 2008 R2 up to Windows Server 2016. For 32 and 64 Bit Computers. ( 64 Bit recommended ). Running on 32 / 64 Bit Computer Hardware. Storage Caching is quite common today. This approach uses RAM instead of SSD for the Caching. This results in Top Storage Speed, evidently faster then a SSD. It can be used with SSD, HDD or Optane Memory. I/O intensive tasks will run accelerated with this Software. Benchmarks published on elitebytes.com demonstrate this impressively. The Personal Edition allows up to 4GB for 1 Storage Volume. The Professional allows to cache up to 4 Volumes with 4GB RAM each. The Enterprise Edition of VeloRAM allows to cache up to 8 Storage Volumes with 64GB RAM each. Finally the Datacenter is completely unlimited suitable for even biggest Machines. The Software has an animated Diagram that shows performance values on a timeline with up to 1 hour width. Performance Values can be exported for deeper analysis of Performance Characteristics. The amount of assigned RAM is also flexible and needs no restart of the OS or app. The Cache is optimized to deliver Low Latency, high Bandwith Storage Power without claiming the CPU. It will accelerate a Class 2 Computer ( SATA 2, USB 2, DDR 2 ) to 2GB Write and 2,5 GB Read. Class 3 Computers ( SATA 3, USB 3, DDR 3 ) twice as much and more, beating the speed of other Caching Systems. Reviews from the giveaway site and Google don't look too good. I'm not really sure that I understand what the program does. It just forces Windows to use RAM instead of caching? Bizarre™
Just by looking at their homepage, I noticed that the write/read speed is just around 2,000 to 2,500 MB/s. This speed is almost the same with HDD Turbo. With PrimoCache, I get a write/read speed around 15,000 MB/s. Although it needs proper configuration to achieve that speed. Interesting both the softwares you have mentioned. I was thinking about trying the second from some time now, any tips for it. Still cannot afford an SSD here. Bizarre™
@DKT27: I realized that PrimoCache configuration differs from PC to PC after reading many articles (especially in their homepage and forums). The settings I have may only be sub-optimal on your PC because of various factors [e.g., hardware configuration (CPU speed, RAM size/speed), software settings (Windows 7/8/10), etc.]. In any event, what I did was download and use different programs that checks the write/read speed of HD, then perform a lot of trial and error. At first, I was only achieving 7,000 to 9,000 MB/s. A few days later (due to many possible setting combinations), I was able to fine-tune PrimoCache to achieve 15,000 MB/s. I believe there's still room for improvement, but I'm content with my settings for now.
rshirley10
I purchased the VeloRAM software and have had a terrible experience with it. It does not accelerate my system above what Windows 10 does. My system does not boot nor run a measurable amount fast than it did before installing the soft ware. The customer support from Elitebytes is very poor. The manual is a conglomeration of all their software products and specific information and instillations for the installed software is mixed with illustration from other versions of their software. Even though the cost is reasonable and trial copies are available free for 30 days, I recommend that you select the latest version of the programs and try it in your system. If it works for you purchase it but if not, don'y waste your money on the software and don't expect assistance from their customer support.
