well i wish there was at least an option so it'd ask me what to do w/ the file instead of automatically quarantining it and making u need to restart ur comp to recover it. :fear:

That's one big flaw but I still prefer Norton. I've been using it since its golden times until it became a resource hogger, it's good to be back. I feel safe with Norton just like what I did with Kaspersky, I think its real-time protection is better than ESET thanks to its SONAR (blame it for false positives) and it excels in virus removal. ESS 3.0 let me down a few times when it found the trojans but failed to clean them up... Had to reformat my computer to get rid of them because I don't think there's a way to fix it after doing some research.

it's so simple feature, yet they miss it.. :frusty:

they should give advanced users more control over how it works, they have restricted it just so n00b users can't disable features "accidentally".. <_<

I HATE NORTON!!

damn, i decided to try this to replace ESS..

Ok, it's lightweight, but whatever changes u make to settings, it just wants to delete keygens and other false positives on it's own!! gotta restart to be able to recover it from quarantine.. :frusty:

only good for ppl who are legit and don't know a crp bout computing (this thing "protects" the user from himself by giving him/her no control.

sux, welcome back my trusty eset.. u truly are the friend of a pirate.

You know there is setting that you can change in the settings under exclusions that disables it from auto protecting or running scans on certain folders/directories of your choice.

I download every thing into one directory that is not protected by nav and then file them into sub directories under that one.

Works like a charm... It has since 2002!!! I know from experience of losing good urm stuff by way of the anti virus.

Used to have a server that had 1000's of butt - cracks and exe's and lost them all to NAV...

PS: If your using a downloader or Firefox make sure to point all your downloads to 1 directory...

Question.. If Norton (NAV or NIS) is great, then, is there a reason that it is not there in the front page?
