To upgrade your Trend Micro Internet Security to the latest version, do the following:

Make sure your computer meets the system requirements.

To check if your computer meets the system requirements, refer to this Knowledge Base article: System Requirements for Trend Micro Security.

Download the installer.

Get your installer here:

  1. Download the installer file to begin the installation.

     

  1. Double-click TrendMicro_12.0_MR_Full.exe to run the installer.

    Click Yes when the User Account Control window appears.

  2. Wait for the installer to extract the files needed for the installation.
Restart your computer after performing system check.

After extracting, the installer will require you to restart your computer to remove the older version:

  1. Click Yes when asked to remove the old program version.

  2. Click Restart Now when prompted to restart your computer.

    After restarting, the installation will resume and will prompt for your serial number.

Type your serial number.

Provide your serial number to verify your subscription:

  1. Type your serial number, then click Next.

Accept the License Agreement.

Trend Micro Internet Security is subject to the terms and conditions of Trend Micro license agreement:

  1. Read the License Agreement carefully, then click Agree and Install.

Wait for the installation to finish.

Upon agreeing with the License Agreement, Internet Security will continue with the installation:

  1. Wait for the program to install. This may take a couple of minutes.

Activate your protection.

Once installation is complete, activate your protection by verifying your Trend Micro Account details:

  1. Click Finish.

    You will see the main console of your Trend Micro Security program.

  • Can you tell me if there is an offline installer ?
  • What's your opinion about the firewall ? Do we have a real complete control ?

3 years ? At least because I don't recall (exactly) but the last time I was deceive by this software (by the GUI, etc). Perhaps it's time to change and to give another try.
