mostwanted
So AFAIK there's no way to remove a password from Windows 10 with a computer that linked to a Microsoft account but, is it possible to remove a password for a local account? If so how?

mikie
Local Account, open control panels 'user accounts' and change the password to blank space & then it has no password.
Jordan
Moved from the Security and Privacy forum ...and as @mikie stated above, there is no need for booting in PE mode or use any third party software to remove local account credentials Just head up to the users accounts in CP and remove existing infos leaving it blank. That's it.

Yet there is one person who really knows. I would add that probably all have forgotten that there is also a thing like Computer Management, select Local Users and Groups and change what you want. Computer Management - %windir%\system32\compmgmt.msc /s or open %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools

It sounds easy, but how to do this if the user does not have access to the operating system (windows)? Sorry my ignorance ... ?

termenk11
I use 2 method to remove any password for any version of windows, I just used it on a Windows 10 installation but I am not sure which version it was on because it is already updated to the latest one. 1. NT Password and registry editor, through a linux bootable usb. 2. Using a windows installation disc and using a command prompt. It works every time. But as aoham said, the 2nd method is not working anymore for latest windows 10 build.
