Didn't trust they would be around that long and I'm old also, that's why only 3 yrs.

They have no trial, only 3 days money back guarantee, and I'm not sure if these cheap offers have this guarantee. Free Windscribe is very slow and server network restricted but there is no privacy issues except Canada. There are some reviews that Pro has got enough speed if You trust these reviews.

What is lifetime for VPN provider? VPNUnlimited says 100 years, some others 5 or 3 years without reactivation. Okay, price is still very low.

First of all, it would be nice if one day Windscribe decide to rectify this trouble... Because the firewall was configured (and no I don't need to recreate any rules because I had already try and it was useless (nothing has change)).

It's just boring to see this alert at each time (when you launch the Windscribe software). And as you can see, this trouble exist since several months and despite the latest update, it didn't yet vanish and now it's worst...

Because another trouble exist and I'm wonder :

  • what's wrong between Windscribe and Mozilla ?
  • It can't be true ? Windscribe is buggy (not connected to internet) because it doesn't seem to like e10s (aka Electrolysis). Unless it's another bug related to the Mozilla multi-process ?
  • Unless Windscribe or Mozilla isn't aware about this bug ?

In fact, Windscribe very often refuse to work fine. Then for the moment, I had found one solution which consist : to close the browser and wait a little moment (several minutes). Then Windscribe will finally work because now you're really connected to the internet.

I don't know why but Windscribe was better (none alert) and faster (not long to reach the server) by the past. Because a few months ago, this latest trouble didn't exist.

PS : No I haven't try the beta and apparently the last one is Windscribe_v1.81_Build44_WindowsClientVPN.exe (has stable).

No @Myna I haven't try yet to contact them. Because I was thinking someone has probably already try (like "ticklemefeet", etc from malwaretips.com). After all, apparently I'm not alone to have this bug (the alert).

Thank you, I will really appreciate and if you need more informations (OS, version, etc) let me know. Today, I don't believe I will find the time (busy IRL and sometimes I need a break (I'm very exhausted)).

That's a very good point because you're right (no you won't find me on any social media). Also I dislike this kind of process because I just don't like to bother the people (neither in the IRL).

I'd also like to add that Windscribe also has a free plan [...]

[...] 10GB per month per month.

That's correct but you can also wait several months (the limit will reach a better limit 50 or 60 GB). Because according to my memories, every year (or a few times at various moments) Windscribe offer a code (like in this one example).

@Ecarion No problem. I'll contact the dev before the end of the giveaway and while doing so I'll let him know about your issues. If he asks for further information I'll let you know.

And yea, even though the companies want the participants to complete the social media media stuff, I believe in a day like today, it shouldn't be a compulsory rule. I'm arranging this giveaway for the whole forum and not just for the people with social media accounts. (Active forum member with more than 100 posts are even allowed to use VPNs while participating.) However, I do want people to follow the social media rule if they can as it's beneficial to both nsane and the sponsoring companies. Therefore I'm giving them an incentive for doing so.

It's a win win for everyone.

I did ask them for the 50GB giveaway along with these license. But they said right now they aren't planning on doing that (at least for nsane.). Maybe next time ;)

check windscribe Preferences - Connection - set Protocol to UDP. check if the issues are fixed for you.

windscribe recently changed the default protocol to IKEv2. previously it was UDP.

Windscribe has solid data protection terms, I have your free service for 1 year used, and I have no complaints about slowness in the country where I connect,

That's very nice @Myna ;) and I rather this way (like you said : a win win for everyone).

I didn't know but I totally understand (after all, it seem's to be a big giveaway for them). Agreed I think the same ;)

Otherwise if it doesn't bother you, could you ask them (or for another next time) :

  • to add a few country (if you need examples : Spain, Sweden, Brazil, Ukraine, Ireland, Mexico, etc and if you want (or need) I could try to explain).
  • Even for a short period (at least one or two month) ?
  • What about a little limit (let's say 20 GB by months) for another country ?
  • etc

Because from my point of view, it could be another beneficial.

windscribe recently changed the default protocol to IKEv2. previously it was UDP.

At first thank you for the advice @Ya5h Kh4n but I don't understand...

The first reason, it's because I had never change the parameter (inside the "menu" Connection). According to my memories, it's always configure on automatic (I had check this only a few times over the last year).

Then I'm wonder do you mean I should try to modify these parameters ? Do you know if the automatic use another protocol (UDP instead of the IKEv2) ?

The second reason, there is something wrong with the firewall ? Because I had check (once again) my rules and I believe there is nothing (none mistake).

In fact, I had choose to allow any protocol (UDP, TCP, etc) because I saw one notification (or firewall alert) only for the both (files and protocols). At the contrary, I had never saw another(s) notification(s) (nothing related to IKEv2).

windscribeopenvpn_2_4_4.exe ===> allow ===> any protocol
windscribe.exe ===> allow ===> any protocol

## For the record, the W10 firewall (even today) remain configure by WFC.
## WFC = Windows Firewall Control_v5.0.2.0
## I'm aware about the latest one (WFC_v5.3.1.0) but I rather to take my time before to proceed the update.
## Let's say very soon I plan to upgrade Windows (W10_v1803).
## Do you believe, the trouble has something related to WFC ?

Do you know if need to create another(s) rule(s) ?

Because (inside the Windscribe folder) I had just discover this file windscribeopenvpn_2_3_17.exe and no it didn't create the rule (none alert).

You said, previously was working fine but issues now. Previous default was UDP but now the default is IKEv2. It could be UDP works good on your system and IKEv2 has issues. So I mentioned to try UDP and check if the issues are solved for you. You have to select "Manual" and set to UDP.
