uffbros
I have removed several programs and there is still reference of them in that area of Win 10 where you decide what you want to show by the clock area...Where the ones you turn off hide and there is a thingy to click on to see them. I want to remove the entries that the programs have been removed. There are no icons in either try but just listed it the items you can turn on or off from showing up there. Know what I'm referring to?
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 5, 2018 Administrator Share Posted May 5, 2018 I believe you want to remove the uninstalled icons from the tray area. While I cannot say for sure, but I believe this might help you do that.
debebee
How did you remove them? Via Control Panel Add Remove programs? or via their own installers.. or did you just delete some things ? Usually programs uninstalled correctly shouldn't show up on the notification area
dcs18
The easiest way would be to check (enable) Tray Notifications Cache (under the Advanced tab) on your CCleaner before running it. Once you're done, it would be advisable to un-check (disable) the Tray Notifications Cache option.
tao
The easiest way may be to use Download Notification Area Cleaner tool. Please give it a try.

In that case, I'm afraid your attempt to uninstall those programs has failed — CCleaner does not clear the icons of programs which are in installed state. Old and for Win 7 means not that it 'll not work. I have a few old ones from windows 98/Me days that still work in Win 10 (1803).
