Changing Mobile Data DNS

Hi,

 

I wanted to change the DNS of the Mobile Data of my Android Smart Phone.

Its a simple process to Change DNS of WiFi but Mobile Data is just something else..

I've searched and tried some apps to change DNS but then I don't know it worked or not, there is no way to check ! 

Has anyone here tried it ?

Use Adguard for Android. It includes DNS and DNSCrypt too.

Or use any of the suggested here. Read comments to choose best suitable.

@Jime234 What your sole reason for changing DNS - Speed Only or Speed&Security(may include adult content blocking options) or Security&Privacy(may include adult content blocking options)?

 

Here are some of the DNS resolvers which u can use(only if available in the app u choose) accordingly.

Speed only(Speed may vary): you can opt for any DNS which gives speed. Like Google, Norton Public DNS, Public Name server IP address, Servermatrix, SmartViper, Dyn, censurfridns.dk11, Hurricane Electric, puntCAT, VeriSign Public DNS, OpenNIC .....

I wont suggest Magisk for no root devices. However, if u still need Magisk suggested by @gingerbread80, here are the latest stable d/w:

 

Speed&Security(Speed may vary): You can opt for OpenDNS, Level 3 Communications, DNSadvantage, Comodo Secure DNS, Norton ConnectSafe, Securly,...

 

Security&Privacy(Speed may vary): Adguard DNS, VeriSign Public DNS, Yandex, Quad9, Oblivious DNS.

Note: Cloudfare's new DNS may come under Speed&Security or Security&Privacy since the debate is still on.

Use Adguard is one of clever choices made. However, when u use Google DNS, snooping DNS requests wont be blocked. You have to choose the DNS under DNScrypt tab for better security&privacy.

Considering Security&Privacy should be priority when it comes to Mobile Devices since u give permissions to various apps to access internet, read/write browsing history and many more critical permissions which could be easily abused by the app vendor itself. However, in PC/laptop, you have more control on your device.

Choose well n stay safe.

I'm not sure of the question / request here.

 

Eitherway, one topic per new version is the rule and needs to be followed with some rare exceptions. We do actually list this software on FP, but then again, we only list the free version of the Android one, so new topic in fine in Mobile Software Updates I think.

I understand the issue. There was merging problem created by new Mod with old Crazycanuk profile. He merged Final with RC thread. I reported and the mess seems to be resolved.
