They aren't... They are called "optional" because they are aimed at users who want to obtain improvements in the performance of some games or even gain support for new releases... Some "sages" here tend to say that they are beta because the download link has the word beta... if the word was "grape juice", would they drink it?! AMD calls optional... not beta !!!
