I am new to gaming and i have a game installed i believe installed correctly. I see some "steam" files in the installation folder. Do i need to install "steam'  software in order for the game to work correctly?

A screen pops up saying "PRESS ENTER TO ADVANCE" so i do. Another screen pops up with the options of AUTOSAVE, RBI BASEBALL 16 USES AUTOSAVE FEATURE OK, SELECT and then it just sits there and does nothing. Why is that?

thx

Steam is a legal game purchase and management software made by once best game developer in the world called Valve.

In most cases, you do not need Steam if you have downloaded a pirated copy of the game. Infact, Steam will ban you if you run a pirated game from within Steam - you will have no issue if you run the game independently though.

A fixed version of a game usually does not require Steam. Those fixes that do require Steam, they use a fixed version of Steam, which has it's own problems. But using that is quite rare though.
