Togijak
The reason to think about a change from NOD32 to Kaspersky was, that a get every x hours this stupid message Why this message is stupid? I don't have a internet flatrate = I am not always online but the stupid software can't make a different like no internet = normal / internet but no connection = message. Kaspersky has similar function but is in the same situation quiet. so far so good I started with the fact that I played back the completely clean but activated Windows SP1 mage. Then I went to the internet café because of the traffic, downloaded all offline updates with WSUS to get back into my rat hole where I live. Install for hours all updates and then create image. So now it should go quickly, because what comes now I can do if I sleep. The important things like browser etc. were installed and then came KIS and that started the crap. As soon as KIS was installed and the computer connected to the internet, I got 20+ such windows + tinkling that says there is no profile folder or there is no access to the profile folder Since I played back the Firefox profile with a copy paste from a recent backup, I suspect that this was the cause since I had previously a problem with the action, so back to the image with the update and this time clean Firefox installed without inserting the old profile -> KIS and the theater started again = 20+ windows again and the tinkling = back to the image with update, installing some basic tools including Firefox and now back to the ROOTS = Kaspersky Antivirus and you can hardly believe it, the window and noise orgy starts again = there is only a logical explanation for me = something from Kaspersky is not compatible with the latest updates from MS. I am incidentally still noticed that KIS is stupid, when installing KIS wants .NET 4.0 or 4.5 although 4.71 is installed and working. Result of the whole thing = I played back the last image with NOD32 and his stupid notification
WALLONN7
I'm sorry for your problems in that context... I've done the same as you - Waterfox in my case and KIS - and no issue...

flitox
so if you redo a clean install and then install again KAV, you get this pop up, right??? but without KAV, your firefox is working well, still correct?? thats maybe something you should ask in their forum, they can get quite helpful
Togijak
@flitox https://forum.kaspersky.com/ was a good idea = done @WALLONN7 Firefox was also x64 version. The problem of trying is that I have in my wonderful rat hole in which I may live only the SurfStick with a volume limit per day and have to travel 40 min one way to a good internet cafe where I pay ~ 1$ per hour = not the best condition to change the installation steps and try again and again
BALTAGY
To disable Livegrid accessible check you can do it via this registry in save mode or before you install ESET Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\gui\UI_CONFIG\ApplicationStatuses\PerseusLiveGridNotWorking] "Show"=dword:00000000 "@Show"=hex(b):00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 But also if this message keep appearing everyday it means your connection to LiveGrid have something wrong, you can try to change DNS or if your using another Firewall you should check it, because ESET depending on LiveGrid as well on detecting new viruses

Anyway, know that you wouldn't have problems in your transition to Watefox... I hope @BALTAGY's suggestion solve your problem... Cheers

The same software don't show a message that it can not update if I am not online = why they don't use the same detection (online / offline) for LiveGrid? flitox
or you could do this, as soon as you are not connected to the internet, you disable eset. by the way, have you seen this? https://support.mozilla.org/fr/questions/1185139 seems similar to your problem
Togijak
Don't ask me how or why - I did the same, just in a different order and until now (not all software tools are installed) everything works without any errors. This time I restored the image of the pure Win7 SP1 (activated) and the next step was to install KIS and than firefox - no problem at that moment - now I inserted the content form the old profile folder into the new one - still no funny windows, no seen problems = next critical action is to run WSUS (use only security updates) = I make a Macrium image from this situation and start WSUS after Macrium finished the image (now I can take some sleep = 143 updates runns for more than 2 hours). WTF I forgot to disable KIS for that action and this stupid tool killed the update.cmd grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr = some action to fix that and now it is running after i stop KIS for that time. After WSUS finished a afraid reboot -> done and everything still looks / feels fine wen using. @ all who gave me the tip to change to Kaspersky You may be right that the detection rate of Kaspersky is gigantic but what the hell Kaspersky is calling a firewall (inside of KIS) if there is no white list mode? Only way is to disable that Kaspersky-firewall-toy and install WFC
flitox
this is the joy of computers and their mysteries...glad to hear it's finally working (so far) you should have a whitelist for kis firewall, but i cant tell you when it is hidden as i don't use it anymore.
