Message to the Administrators of NSANE :

As "Notepad2" (updated on 28-10-2012) is no longer really maintained and its successor "Noptepad3" (updated on 31-01-2018) is really very wel followed by its author.
I suggest to [Frontpaged] "Noptepad3" instead of "Noptepad2".  :think::rolleyes:

You may consider that the successor but many people consider the often updated Notepad Plus Plus as THE notepad replacement.

I agree with you "Notepad++" is a very powerful and very complex "FREE Notepad Replacer".  :thumbsup:  :yes:

Let say, you may consider "Notepad3" as an "Intermediate "FREE Notepad Replacer".

With Notepad3 the aim of the author is to create :  :secret:

  • A true Notepad-like single document interface for our daily work with small scripts and files.
  • A fast and light-weight Scintilla-based text editor with syntax highlighting.
  • A small memory footprint, but is powerful enough to handle most programming jobs.
  • A replacing the default Windows Notepad using a clean, unobtrusive registry-based method.
  • But can also be installed along-side Windows Notepad.

Topic marked as solved.

Notepad3 is now already listed on FP in replacement of Notepad2. Thanks to hpwamr for recommending it.
