J.D
Hi, I'm having major problems trying to Install Eset ESS on my Lappy - I click on the Installer, it starts to install, gets to ~90% and stops with an error message that Installer does not have enough privileges and then goes in to reverse and removes the partial install .This is ESS v10 I have right-clicked and ticked administrator box, apply and try again but no luck .(I am the administrator LoL) What do I need to do to fix this problem ? (no problems installing any other program) Thanks...
hacker7
First thing first you have to run eset uninstall tool to wipe any left over from previews installation! Download http://download.eset.com/special/ESETUninstaller.exe Only Runs from safe mode and then try to install it again.
Pete 12
" First thing first you have to run eset uninstall tool to wipe any left over from previews installation! "......................right ! And then ( after reboot ) delete all files/folders etc. related to ESET , also search your regedit for left-overs ! Reboot again and install as an administrator. Had these troubles also ,after latest update from ESET . Its all 100% ok now , let us know if you succeeded ..................

Ecarion
Do you have the offline installer and the latest version ? Nothing wrong ? Because it might help to provide a few more information (which OS ? size file ? adress url ? etc)

Whoopenstein
I'm pretty sure Purefix had an option to remove. In fact I think the documentation said it was required before re-installing. If you don't have the program anymore, I think I can dig it up somewhere.
J.D
No luck guys I launched Purefix v2.02 (portable) - options to remove 'the fix' in safe mode, I took that option and in safe mode removed the fix - then using the Eset uninstaller successfully uninstalled ESS v4 .Rebooted and checked to ensure no folders leftover, then searched the registry for any old keys / entries from Eset but none found nothing .So far so good . However on executing the full installer ~(120mb) again it stops at ~90% installation saying 'installation cannot continue' and closes .Clean up using Crap Cleaner, check install location to ensure no folders created, run a search on Registry for keys created but there are none . No real big issue because I can roll the system back 1 hour using AXTMx64 and the old version 4 will be back up and running - although v4 is ~ 3 years old will I still have some form of protection ? ESS v4 updates OK several times a day, so always up to date . Annoying though none the less but running out of ideas .

It was working up until Eset v5 or v6. When you didn't log into Windows for more then 30 days you had to unfix TemDono first and fix again. When uninstalling Eset whithout unfixing it took hours to get rid of everything left from Eset and the fix

Pete 12
Its better to buy some programs , especially a-virus/firewalls , it will safe you for lots of troubles ,sooner or later ! And you also dont have to deal with all kind of "fixes " and other "medicins ".................
Pete 12
Did you see my first post in this forum ? Now you also have to remove this " fix " , which can be very difficult to get rid of............. Had also lots of troubles with ESET after latest E-update , but removing ( severe uninstalling ) and clean install ,with bought key , solved my problems very well..........
