Because for me in: (name app portable ).ini in portableapp folder. DisableSplashScreen=true Works well for all portable by PortableAppZ. Exemple for PaleMoon: PaleMoonPortable.ini in FirefoxPortable folder. [PaleMoonPortable] User=PaleMoon AllowMultipleInstances=false ThunderbirdAssociate=true DisableSplashScreen=true SplashScreenName= And i have no SplashScreen. This is the best recommendation, what can be done. They are sometimes very dangerous. But their splashscreen advertisement is coded in the launcher and mostly the added .ini file will not do nothing. All, that glitters, is not still gold.
snf
@Kalju Definitely you see evil everywhere. I use and many other people ; PortableAppZ portable since many year. Never with problems. And what you say about SplashScreen is wrong. You do not like PortableAppZ release. It's ok. But do not disgust the others. Thank's Exemple. I use Seamonkey Portable by PortableApps. And it have the same sytem of SplashScreen.

Dear comrade (Chief God in the world), I have exactly the same right to say my opinion or recommendation like you have. You are not the only one and the Chief God in the world. And if you've read the forum guidelines at random, you might know, that here is not the place to personally insult and criticize others, but rather a place to discuss about computer software and problems. THORN
i use many portable programs - all have splash showing despite i modified the ini file accordingly as @Kalju say it's hardcoded in the launcher and connot be anymore disabled via ini file for my part i think this portable maker should have left (former) easy choice to users to disable it or not i still hope someone have a solution to edit the launcher itself and remove the splash screen (i re-edit title and add NOT SOLVED to get other members attention and maybe have other potential help)

Damned ;i don't understand. What is happening . In PortableAppZ Quote Disabling splash screen Although the splash screen does not delay the launch, you can disable it with: DisableSplashScreen=true in *Portable.ini You can also put your own splash in Data (must be .bmp with transparency magenta) and write: SplashScreenName=MySplash in .ini (for MySplash.bmp) Quote Check admin rights "You are not allowed to write to the registry!!" can explain that portable don't run or not properly. You can disable this check with CheckRegWrite=false in .ini. It's unbelievable that it does not work for you.

It doesn't works if you use a %temp% location, for example if you start the launcher from a RAR archive. I haven't tried but, probably could work allowing the execution in %temp% (by .ini, if possible with Bernat's launcher).

(note that i still have some previous releases with embedded splash screen into launcher) maybe the author have read this post Thanks to all of you guys and thanks to the author for allowing this again.
