<img src="/images/logos/MBAM.png" class="logo" alt="Malwarebytes" title="Malwarebytes" />Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is considered to be the next step in the detection and removal of malware. In our product we have compiled a number of new technologies that are designed to quickly detect, destroy, and prevent malware. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware monitors every process and stops malicious processes before they even start. The Realtime Protection Module uses our advanced heuristic scanning technology which monitors your system to keep it safe and secure. In addition, we have implemented a threats center which will allow you to keep up to date with the latest malware threats.

Thanx for the update. :)

Seems to be a great update. Fixes many issues. Most importantly fixes IP protection a bit. Brings new things. Great. :D

Some serious bug fixes addressed. I hope it runs better now. :D
Sadly this release is disappointing yet again, it still blocks rss.bt-chat.com for whatever the hell reason. There is no bloody log to get the list of blocked IP so unless you remember it in the 2 seconds it pops up then too bad. (correct me if I am wrong on that point, I could not locate the log for it). So annoying this MBAM has become :protest: I must yet again disable realtime protection and leave it for on demand scanning only.

Good, now I can actually update :D
Yea, the update is good, it starts faster now, but don't waste your time with the IP Protection. That part is more annoying than anything else, I am surprised it has not worked against you as yet, as I know you are involved in many torrents.

Yes, there is log. In Vista and Windows 7 on this location:

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

I can't say where this location is for Windows XP.

Cheers ;)

@mara:

I have 3 guesses where it should be in XP...

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

Documents and Settings\[insert Name Here]\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

Documents and Settings\[insert Name Here]\Local Settings\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

I'm not sure though, since I'm not using this program...

Thanks. :) I see the files there.

The problem is nothing is showing up in the Logs tab in the main program window so I assumed no logs were stored.

just to throw in my own 2 cents: yes, the IP protection is still atrocious. Some of the problems include not being able to disable the little popup bubble every time an IP is blocked and not being able to add exclusions. Until they can implement these changes, I have to leave what could be a useful feature in the disabled state.

I have to disable it on every reboot but I can disabled it with two clicks.

I don't understand why they don't simply give the user an option to turn off and disable IP Protection permanently if the user wishes to. I don't want to be bothered having to disable it each time I reboot. This oversight is very disappointing.

Now I have a big problem here. Whenever I click ignore it button when it detects infection in live protection, it crashes. I cannot find "mbam-info.txt" with exact name in my PC, used searched whole PC to search it with hidden icons visible and scanned. I can see the other log files in application data folder but it doesn't contain any logs of MBAM crashes, just some scan logs. Now what can I do on this? I'm had same problem with the previous version.

I also experienced that problem, but just once. Maybe reinstall would help. You can find on MBAM forum tool that will clean everything from system that MBAM created.

Cheers ;)

Thanx for the tip. I think it's the only thing left to do. I wanted to send the crash report but nevermind.

  • 2 months later...

A check for updates from within the program gives 1.42 now. Official download link still gives version 1.41 - so no front paging of the news yet:lol:

Thanx for the info Jalaffa. :)

You can edit the registry to disable IP protection for good. I forget where the post is about that but Mara posted the instructions somewhere. I disabled IP protection in the registry and now I can leave real time protection on without having to disable IP protection on each reboot.

Some cool info harpua. Unless it has not been fixed in 1.42 I would appreciate some soul searching finding out how to
