Stand Alone Minecraft

I have a stand alone version of Minecraft 1.5. I was hoping there might be something available that is a little closer to the current version that will run as a stand alone on a computer my grandkids play on. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Just tried downloading with Chrome, instead of Firefox, and no decryption key was required.

no need for a torrent. you can download latest MC installer directly from mojang

https://launcher.mojang.com/download/MinecraftInstaller.msi

though, you do need a valid login to use. i'm assuming your kids have that

To tell the truth about it I really don't know. They seem to play it on the tablets quite a bit so it may be safe to assume that they have a login. That would certainly be the easiest way.
