mclaren85
What is the brand of the touch pad? Possibly it is Synaptics. Go to synaptics website, download and install the software then you can disable touchpad via Fn+F1 shortcut or from some other menu. Follow this link and choose the appropriate package: http://www.synaptics.com/resources

stylemessiah
Usually you can disable the touchpad via a Fn (function key) and an Fx (F1-F12 key - check the pictograms above your function keys) key on your keyboard on a lot of laptops If that fails...https://www.raymond.cc/blog/touchfreeze-disables-laptop-touchpad-when-typing/ Installing random drivers is the worst way to go about it
