How To "Setup" A VPN

Knightmare

Recommended Posts

I might have to ask my friend for more information but this was his request to me. I don't even know if he knows what he wants exactly. He claims that he is moving to China and requested that I "setup a VPN" on his computer and on his phone. I thought it was just as simple as downloading a VPN program on the device and configuring it from there. The problem is I don't know the first thing about configuring the VPN because I've never had to setup one. He wants to pay me, but I would feel bad taking the money if it's just as simple as sending him links on things to download--plus I don't know if the drive to visit him would be worth the money that he pays (he never gave me a price, but how much would he possibly give me for such a service?). I was hoping that maybe if I find detailed information that I could set it up on my home computer, but I think I'll probably need a server to setup a VPN, which I do not have. The services that I found were a certain amount of money per month, which confused me because I didn't know why they would charge money if there are programs out there that you can use for free. :s

I use cyberghost VPN and I like it setting up your own vpn using openVPN is something I havent done before and it could be complicated.  You might ask straycatnineteen or israeli eagle they could explain better then I can.  Im not good at explaining shit.

I was thinking about setting him up with that. That would be easy because then I wouldn't waste the gas and he could save money.

i would highly recommend softether VPN, if you have resource.
The only weakness is, softether VPN rely on physical distance. Server can't be located long distance from U.

Thanks to those evil censorship authorities, their hard works so many yesrs, VPN is not safe any more, be very careful of this truth.

i suggest user add some additional protection, such as use elite proxy, socks4/5 proxy, to protect VPN itself.

Some of VPN also provide their squid proxy, don;t miss it.

All ip hider was blocked in china, they're weak.

But ChrisPC Anonymous Proxy + htttp/socks proxy still working.

Softether VPN + htttp/socks proxy also works well, that'a amazing.
