Currently is so, that all these handcraft skins are so full of bugs and very often works only one one place or page, but all others are horrible. Yes, it's simple to change color, width, height etc, if it is used only in one place, but usually isn't so. Often is changed so, that one page is good, but some others are even not readable. So, my recommendation is - let by default stay original theme and then install others as much You want. And one more thing, if somebody really want only dark background and dark-grey text, use for example original theme and Chrome/Firefox/etc extension "Dark Reader" and You can get what You want. You can yourself change colors, contrast etc, even time, when and what color scheme is in use.
