oliverjia
Real question is how long the 1TB account will last. I have a feeling MS will revoke it after a certain time. Is it worth the hassle to get one? Probably not.

Alanon
The email address is not a problem since many institutional emails are only really meant to be used as IDs. The admins can get really angry if you have extensive outside traffic on such addresses. That's the reason you have the security address for password reset and security, so as not to litter the official inbox. Also, there's another email setting buried in the background, something called Contact me, where the fake mail is placed by default - you can change that as well, which bypasses all the social elements to your real email. I think this has the effect of turning the login address into a very ugly username, but nothing more than that. That being said, I'm unclear on many things. First, the title mentions 1TB, but there seems to be 5TB in the OneDrive sync. Is this a permanent boost, or a temporary one? What's more, is this a promo or a permanent 365 subscription? Is there a way of removing the "One Drive - Chinese characters" suffix from the actual sync name? I thought it might change if I switch every regional setting to English, but it turns out I can't access all of them. I don't know how that will affect the file-path in other applications. Also, this being an organisational type of system, doesn't the admin of this particular group have some privileges and/or oversight? I am very intrigued by the potential of using this as my cloud backup storage if it proves to be a reliable thing. I'd hate to upload from my external HDD only to have all that time and bandwidth wasted later on. UPDATE: Ok, after tweaking it for a while, here's where I've arrived at: For this to work, you must use the latest OneDrive sync client that comes with Windows 10. Office versions of "OneDrive for Business" are legacy ones, and they will not work. You can tell them apart by the login process - the old versions demand a "Library URL" to set up. Sadly, this fact also means that the Chinese characters will not be removed from the drive, since that is the company/institution name, and only the global admin can change it. Also, the moment something changes with the educational permissions or status of the issuer, all the accounts will be changed in a chain reaction. Ha91
How do we get the confirmation mail? I can't understand this step in Chinese website?
Alanon
12 hours ago, Ha91 said: How do we get the confirmation mail? I can't understand this step in Chinese website? You need to open this website, that's a virtual Chinese mail address like Guerilla mail or 10minutemil. You have to use that email address to register, and not your real email. That's where they are going to send you the confirmation code. After that, you can simply follow the instructions.

It should be located in a box in the upper right corner. It's important that you do not leave the page, as it also serves as a temporary inbox for the address you were given.
