U.S. Investigators Believe Russian Hackers Contributed To Arab Rift With Qatar

Washington (CNN):US investigators believe Russian hackers breached Qatar's state news agency and planted a fake news report that contributed to a crisis among the US' closest Gulf allies, according to US officials briefed on the investigation.

The FBI recently sent a team of investigators to Doha to help the Qatari government investigate the alleged hacking incident, Qatari and US government officials say.
Intelligence gathered by the US security agencies indicates that Russian hackers were behind the intrusion first reported by the Qatari government two weeks ago, US officials say. Qatar hosts one of the largest US military bases in the region.

The alleged involvement of Russian hackers intensifies concerns by US intelligence and law enforcement agencies that Russia continues to try some of the same cyber-hacking measures on US allies that intelligence agencies believe it used to meddle in the 2016 elections.

The FBI and CIA declined to comment. A spokeswoman for the Qatari embassy in Washington said the investigation is ongoing and its results would be released publicly soon.

As reported Monday, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Libya, and Yemen cut relations with Qatar over its alleged support of ISIS, al-Qaeda, and the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Shia rebels in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The allegations aren’t new. Qatar’s foreign policy has long been a source of irritation for its Arab neighbors. Saudi Arabia withdrew its ambassador to Doha from 2002 to 2008. In 2014, some of the same countries withdrew their diplomats from Qatar citing similar concerns. That dispute took nearly a year to resolve. But Monday’s move went further: It closed Saudi Arabia’s land border with Qatar, which could have severe economic consequences for the country.

Not confirmed by official sources in Qatar as stated by Qatari embassy. No need to propagate US state sponsored propaganda based on anonymous sources. Metadata and ip addresses can be faked - for example, the CIA has capability to perform such false flags.

How did the hacking contribute to "Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Libya, and Yemen" cutting "relations with Qatar over its alleged support of ISIS, al-Qaeda, and the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Shia rebels in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain."   In what way?  Do the hackers have such influence over so may countries' government's actions?  ;)

Why US had invaded Iraq?

-Because they have chemical weapons.

Did they find anything after invasion?

-No.

Conclusion: Never trust USA

Personally I think that USA is the one caused most of the problems in the Middle East.

I have no affiliation with any news agency, nor care for whatever country's politics.

But, I can assure you, from personal experience, that Qatar,  indeed does support terrorists worldwide. No matter what the FBI nor the CIA says, it is a terrorist state. And as such, should be viewed.
