jalaffa
qBittorrent is a multi-platform Bittorrent client developed in C++/Qt4. The qBittorrent project aims to provide a Free Software alternative to µtorrent. Its main features are its integrated search engine (allows searching for torrent from the main torrent Web sites simultaneously in a transparent fashion), its support for l'UPnP/NAT-PMP, Bittorrent protocol encryption (Azureus-compatible), Peer Exchange (PeX) compatible with µTorrent, IP filtering (eMule-like "ipfilter.dat" or PeerGuardian filters), Torrents (and the files they contain) prioritizing, remote control through a secure Web User Interface. TheEmpathicEar
What advantages/disadvantages does this have vs. uTorrent?
Docer
It is much faster, and lighter weight like micro torrent used to be back in the day. There are no ads, nor push to go streaming or download more bloatware. It is the best community supported Bittorrent software out there at this present time. I am shocked that more don't use it, but instead use Transmission, uT, or Azureus still... It's so simple, fast, lightweight, and just the best. I switched long ago to this. Even without the ads, offers, and other bloat disabled, uTorrent is still lighter on system resources than qBittorrent. Another thing is that qBittorrent doesn't have the "create subfolder" box to check or uncheck. That's a pretty big missing feature for some people that has been requested for several years. Although it is being added to the 13.4 release whenever it's out.
Docer
I suppose perhaps to each their own. It has been much more stable and free of resources for me. Though I use only a Windows machine when using it.

More stable I can get with, but I have run qBittorrent on many, many, many different Windows machines and it has 100% of the time used more resources than uTorrent. I mean, not that it matters unless your PC has 128MB of RAM, lol. Just saying that in my experience, for many years, on many machines, qBit uses more resources than uTorrent. Even if the difference is small. Edit: I should say that I will be switching to qBit exclusively... after 3.4 is out. Only reason I don't now is because I can't deal with having to use workarounds for no "Create Subfolder" box.
