insanedown58
I found this annoying bug/glitch with the Windows Update client where it tells me that my hardware is too new for Windows. That made me scratch my head because last I learned 1.) You can't upgrade your laptop's processor (in a "consumer-friendly" manner of course) and 2.) It's a Core 2 freaking Duo P8600! So how do I stop this thing from constantly popping up and why does this happen? I'm assuming this is removable by uninstalling an update but I don't know what KB number it is. Israeli_Eagle
LOL... Maybe some weird & wrong drivers installed. Or BIOS might send wrong CPU type. Any administrative events (Event Viewer)? And try this first: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/512a5183-ffab-40c5-8a68-021e32467565/windows-update-troubleshooter
Atasas
Change driver update settings in to not updating drivers from M$, restart pc Then uninstall CPU driver and once restarted it should find right driver itself... (BUT i suspect you have used some crappware driver management soft), so you'll have to restart and re'enable automatic driver update from Win Update. insanedown58
Hmm.. that's weird I NEVER updated my drivers through Windows Update and only used the files from Lenovo's site (Thinkpad X200) for driver installs... will try though
