So it is, because such updates are intended to meet immediate needs, such as support for newly released games, enhancements, and so on.In addition, beta does refer to something not finished, still in the testing phase, which evidently is not the case. Based on your "arguments": Without the "signature" of the Goddess Microsoft = BETA driver... AMD links formerly used for beta drivers, makes actual optional driver = BETA driver... Fine... Buuuuuut... There is one question that does not want to shut up: What - and you both DO have the answer - would lead AMD to omit the words BETA / NOT FINISHED / UNDER TESTS in the changelog... Not only in the current driver, but in all that came before it - from the one who started this model recently adopted by AMD?!... Period... jvidal
they intentionally avoid using the word "beta" for the outside, but internally they treat this driver as beta. just check the download URL. I don't know why, but they, somehow, are "afraid" of using the word "beta" (they think it will prevent some users from downloading it or whatever, who knows) Just answer this VERY SIMPLE question: If the drivers are not beta, then WHY THE HELL do they place them in the BETA directory? are they just incompetent and/or stupid? No, they place them in the beta dir. BECAUSE they are beta. simple as that.
