I'm personally not experienced when it comes to gaming on laptops as I believe gaming should never be done on it due to heat issues, so I do not know if you will need a laptop with graphics card. What I do know however, is that laptops which come with cheap entry level graphics card models, their graphics cards are no match for build-in Intel GPU, which is better than those cheap entry level graphics cards, but as you know, it's not that good to consider it as a gaming GPU, but fine depending on your needs I think. I suppose you had a very bad experience with Asus. In my case it is totally opposite. I have four Asus smartphone in my family. I never have personally owned an Asus laptop but I have suggested it to friends near me and they are pretty happy with it.
