Internet Download Manager 6.28 Build 6

Recommended Posts

Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a tool to increase download speeds, resume and schedule downloads. Comprehensive error recovery and resume capability will restart broken or interrupted downloads due to lost connections, network problems, computer shutdowns, or unexpected power outages. Simple graphic user interface makes IDM user friendly and easy to use. Internet Download Manager has a smart download logic accelerator that features intelligent dynamic file segmentation and safe multipart downloading technology to accelerate your downloads. Unlike other download managers and accelerators Internet Download Manager segments downloaded files dynamically during download process and reuses available connections without additional connect and login stages to achieve best acceleration performance.

Thanks to vissha for the update.

As your patch (v 6.28.5.1) is just 36 KB in size, that other bloated 718 KB file is best avoided.

Exactly, I was very much sure because of its size that its not you're release and I even not downloaded it

Do you meet one trouble when you activate the Speed Limiter ?

Apparently, IDM doesn't apply the limit (as global) when you are downloading several files at once... For me it's sound like a bug (and if I remember right).

PS : In the case, you will find it via the menu Downloads ---> Speed Limiter.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have to say that I have noticed some erratic behaviour between 628b6 and Firefox 53.0.. Every now and then IDM wants to continue downloading "something" (lord only knows what..!!) after finishing the main download, and always from YouTube, where another IDM box opens up and asks where to save the extra, so I just cancel. Also sometimes when you right click and "download with IDM" from the right click shell menu, the IDM menu entry seems to change to having a sub-folder of its own so you have to run the mouse over the sub-folder to get the actual download shell integration option, then a while later it's back to normal you can go straight to the IDM download option.. I don't know"...!!!

Maybe I should have stayed with previously used 627b5 - flawless...

No issues here.

I suggest you to disable one from installed addons and test. Repeat the process keeping those already disable until rest IDM addon only. Please report the results...

@InsaneAl A fews years ago, I had met one similar trouble. The cause was IDM because this setting : Don't capture downloads from web-players automatically wasn't configured.

Otherwise my advice would be to check the extension and website list (I refer to : Don't start downloading automatically from the following addresses (or sites)).

Is there a setting for this?

I don't use Categories, so I would like to click a link, then browse to the folder location and have the download start as soon as I click the "Save" button without having to click the "Start Download" button.

I would like to emulate how browsers work as much as possible. With a browser, you just browse to the location, then click the "Save" button, then it starts downloading without having to click a "Start Download" button. Clicking the "Start Download" button is just a wasted step for me and a hindrance.
