popup, what is it??, TAP Provider V9 for Private Tunnel Network

over the last few days I have been randomly getting this popup and I don't have any idea what it would be from, I'm always selecting do not install as I don't know what it is.

I haven't installed anything new, anyone got any idea??

I have scanned computer with Symantec endpoint and malware bytes and both come up 100% clean.

what is it?? safe or not safe?? googling it seems to say its not safe.

Seems as though it is used by autoKMS, probably to keep your windows or office activated.  It is installed and running on my system for some time now without any problems.

 

KMS activates computers on a local network, eliminating the need for individual computers to connect to Microsoft. To do this, KMS uses a client–server topology. KMS client computers can locate KMS host computers by using Domain Name System (DNS) or a static configuration. KMS clients contact the KMS host by using remote procedure call (RPC).

Packets sent by an operating system via a TUN/TAP device are delivered to a user-space program which attaches itself to the device. A user-space program may also pass packets into a TUN/TAP device. In this case TUN/TAP device delivers (or “injects”) these packets to the operating-system network stack thus emulating their reception from an external source.

Do you have a VPN installed?  CyberGhost is known to install this and probably other VPN software also.

ive got KMS, no VPN programs of any type, scanned computer with zero results detected, maybe KMS as described above.
