jalaffa
K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of components needed for audio and video playback in DirectShow players such as Windows Media Player, Media Center, and Media Player Classic. It contains everything you need to play all common audio and video file formats. It also provides additional functionality such a thumbnail generation in Explorer. The pack has a very advanced installer which is highly flexible and has unique problem solving capabilities. Thanks to vissha for the update.Download
zembla
Do I need these updates that come so often? I have Windows 10 Professional and I wonder if I need other codec packs.

While you need or not a K-Lite Codec Pac depends on the use you are giving it. I guess the best way to verify is checking WHAT'S NEW about some particular update, checking at K-Lite's Webpage, Look at "Detailed Changes" section. Maybe you should look for a What's New file though I'm not sure if there is one in K-Lite. https://www.codecguide.com/klcp_update.htm
