straycat19
There is a lot of information floating around on the internet concerning the AMD Ryzen processor in relation to the Intel i7 lineup. Two of the best reviews I have read are on Toms Hardware. One is a thorough look at 11 popular games while the other is a review of the Ryzen 1800x not only on games but in the work environment with normal and scientific software and normal work use. These are the most indepth reviews with data on test setups and so on. Unlike reviews on other sites which just quote a specific benchmark program these are real world and give a better understanding of the chips capability. They are way too long to post here, so I have just placed the links below. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-cpu,4951.html http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-vs-intel-kaby-lake-gaming,4977.html
Administrator DKT27 Posted March 19, 2017 Administrator Share Posted March 19, 2017 I wish they would have provided some power usage comparison between CPUs though.

Idle power usage is impressive, load power usage is not. I understand the difference between TDP and actual power usage, but such a high power requirement is not nice. Add to that, I'm reading that AMD is having a big per core cache usage issue right now here.
