Apparently the issue has been fixed with a new update  https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/197059-malwarebytes-306-cu3/

:D

They list about 8 fixes on that link....8 down, 59 to go!!! I gave up trying to get a working install after a week of uninstalling, booting, reinstalling, booting, booting in safe mode, uninstalling / reinstalling in safe mode, patching, using serials etc etc When I could get it installed and clicked on the task bar icon my computer froze totally and after waiting for several minutes I was forced to power off, boot into safe mode and uninstall the vile creature!! I continued trying but then I got BSOD three times. I then tried to go back to v2.2.1.1043. I did a clean up with Mbams cleanup tool, cleaned with CCleaner just in case, rebooted, installed v2.2.1.1043, made the usual "hosts" exclusion, checked all the settings, serial was accepted as Premium lifetime....but when I clicked on "update databases" the progress bar ran for a couple of minutes and it then said "unable to access update server" (database was stuck at Feb 2016). I tried the Corporate version and at the second installation it updated the database and is working and automatically updating since yesterday. I think version 3 is really a BETA and we are the testing guinea pigs.:D:D:D

Once companies found out that users would install beta software like Windows 10, and be testers for their software, the floodgates opened and now no one tests their software before releasing it.  And they even charge you for the full version you are testing.  That's a win-win for software developers.  They don't have to pay people to test their software before releasing it and legal users pay for the privilege of being beta testers.   Thank all the idiots who adopted Windows 10 without making Microsoft first release a stable version that was not going to be totally updated every 3-4 months and where even Microsoft can't release an update that doesn't screw up a large percentage of users systems.

Can you get the component update if the program is fixed and sites are blocked in the hosts file?

How the mighty have fallen. What a shame. I have a lifetime license that is going to waste. I may install someday if they ever fix this buggy and bloated software.

Dump MB and switch to Zemana - it´s light, always up to date and doesn´t conflict with other key installations.  On W10 it´s all anyone needs along with the in-built Defender.  Don´t be fooled by all the flashing lights and scareware from the big guns.

Usually it is not problem with MBAM, but problem with Windows.
If You also scan Windows using sfc /scannow, You may get that everything is OK.
It also may be so, then is damaged registry content.
I had same problem about months ago. Helped only clean install and now is everything OK. No popups and all services run and work perfectly.

MBAM is no longer the King of Antimalware.....Zemana is best at the moment.

It's not a very good joke, you can afford to keep or post on funny stuff.

How is it possible to compare completely different things? One of them is anti-malware suite and the other only simple scanner.

Zemana runs in the background all the time so how is it only a scanner? It catches about every medicine I get on here..I'd say it is great?????

And btw also has real time protection so again how can it be only a scanner?
