Knightmare
I recently reformatted my computer and was trying to get my settings back the way that they were. I kept getting the Open File warning box and remembered that there was a way to turn it off in Group Policy. Since I had just installed Windows 7 Manager and I remember that there was an option to disable it, I checked the box to disable the feature. I rebooted the computer and when I downloaded an exe file to test the setting, I still got the popup warning. The option in Windows 7 Manager was still checked though. Any idea as to why this didn't work? I know the workaround to disable the message, but now I'm wondering how reliable Windows 7 Manager is and how many settings are actually working. straycat19
All the tweaks that can be done with Windows 7 Manager can be done without it. All these so-called tweaking programs are just more junk in your system. You are better off making the necessary tweaks yourself and not rely on a program to do it for you that may not work on your particular setup, or may not work at all. Take a look at the page I linked below. It has all the information you need to fix your problem. https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/182353-open-file-security-warning-enable-disable.html
