The patches of addhaloka... jams up my rig, I dont know why.

Oh, right.

I had a similar experience using the patch found here:

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/280696-internet-download-manager-626-build-9/?do=findComment&comment=1151625

Talk about freezing my PC up! It wasn't for me, thanks!

Anyway, I stick with the trusted addhaloka patch now. Instantly launches and works a treat for me on Windows XP.

I'm wondering ... how many times I have to patch IDM in this year :unsure:

Comparing to the last 2 years

2016 = 25 times (at least)

2015 = 30 times (at least)

Ref: IDM Updates

while trial users need to fix only 12 times in a year ;)

and users with IP block/firewall need only ...... (sorry, no data ... but my IDM still activated, it's been 2 years by now)

The only limitation with IP blocking method is one cannot use proxy tools.

The data is twice in 2015 and once in 2016 — the reason seems that upgrading to fresh, new IPs seems like an expensive exercise to the IDM developers . . . . . . . therefore, all that Users of the IP blocking method need to do when a new IDM update/upgrade is available is to . . . . . . . . well, simply install the unmodified installer (never mind whichever one — the Retail or Trial.) No further effort is required at all. 6HUIPBa.gif

One can use the IP blocking method with proxy tools and VPN (or, any other form of encryption) as well — provided one has the ability to calculate the fresh, new set of corresponding IPs. 7HSB47o.gif

@T3rM1nat0Rr3 I don't remember very well but the message (from Taker) was about regedit. You can use one software like Trashreg to find the very long key clsid (like below) :

Spoiler

"cDTvBFquXk0eIdrOHzdfcp8G98DM5qPhs++YcVi8JRaz75hxWLwlFrPvmHFYvCUWs++YcVi8JRaz75hxWLwlFg=="

The name is still the same ? Since a long time, I believe it doesn't exist anymore ... It was something like visual (project ? studio ? or just v3.5 ? etc).

By the past, it was mentionned several times on the Nsane forum (and to give one example you can take this post).

To avoid the trouble (about the activation which refuse to work), first you need to close the IDM program. Then you had to remove the key (or several keys like this one ?) and you will be able to activate IDM.

Hi dude!

I don't have any problem with VPN and finding new IPs but I don't know how to do it for a proxy tool. Would you please guide me how to find and block? (Windows Firewall is not compatible with proxy tool...)

No activation problems here. I was just curious as to what I had missed :)

Sure, you might want to post at the playground since our ensuing conversation is likely to stray off-topic — also, this topic here, has a shorter shelf life.

You might also want to post details on the proxy tools and your reason/s for using them.

Fix minor bug in patches from pavel97 + added variant with new disable update method - for IDM version 6.25 and higher - unlike previous patches - update turned off, but will be available for updates manually in the program interface.
