Is there any recommendations/reason for a video player to go x64 ? i used x86 potplayer for years back before i started watching alot of HEVC , x86 is fine for H264 or XviD because windows is optimized for these formats they use very little cpu with DXVA decoding but watching x265 you're ruining off process power mostly . Quote Sebastiii Team MediaPortal There will be quite big difference between 32 and 64 bit players when it comes to LAV and software decoding's CPU usage and unfortunately 32 is the slow one You get lower cpu and smother playback using x64 player for cpu intense video such as HEVC and VP9

I found the latest version 1.6.63891 from a few different sites and unpacked them and found differences,, in the 'Language' & 'Skins' folders, and in particular, the file "ffcodec.dll",, one being 14,226,432 bytes (dated 4th Jan),, the other 14,231,040 bytes (dated 5th Jan, from Daum.net site)... For what it's worth... InsaneAl
