RoboForm 8.2.6

RoboForm is a Password Manager and Web Form Filler that completely automates password entering and form filling. It allows you to define your personal profile or "usual" responses to a web form. This information is then saved, and when you need to fill a form, just click "Fill Forms" button, and form is filled out. Works as an add-on to Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Chrome, Firefox or Netscape web browsers.

Thanks to kabino for the update.

I find it worrying that in version 8 your Master Password is used to both login to your online account and unlock the passcards on your PC.

With version 7 I had a very strong password to access my online account, and an easier more memorable password to use RoboForm on my PC. Not sure I like this change in version 8.

It seems some issues are still not clear enough... Well, from the current version, there's no more connection of passcards with your machine, it's just cloud. When you type the password to release them, you're logging into your cloud private account.
But if you still feel fearful, there are several ways you can get around this:
Logins> Roboform Online Account
> Security tab > turn on "One Time Password Option" and add your phone number / email... "Change your account password"... Assign "Session Timeout" / "Enrollment period"...

Thanks. So if the passcards are no longer stored locally (which seems to be the case after a clean install), what happens when the RoboForm server is down? Does that mean we can no longer login anywhere using RoboForm?

Doesn't seem like a practical solution.

Well, if you take into account the average time that a server is usually down, I can not see a big headache... :coolwink:

Even worse is your bank server falling down on payday!!!

OK, synced with cloud, deleted all files from cloud, turned sync off on the PC and the passcards are still available on the PC.

So it seems that they are stored somewhere on the PC just not in the format version 7 had.

I'm happy now knowing that my passcards aren't accessible online (unless when I want them to be), and that all my logins are available from my PC.

Stay on 7... I'm sure you won't get along with the new version... ;)

To those who have already gone from version 7 to 8 what are you thoughts?

Is it worthwhile or is 7 just as good and not worth updating?

    From a very happy version 7 user.....Thx

I don't want to send all my passwords to the cloud, not even once. ?

I have nothing to complain about... Even though we are living in times when everyone wants to spy on us, I do not see Roboform being part of that.
Control over the application has become easier and more intuitive in cloud mode. The favicons are more effective than in the previous version. But that's my personal opinion...
I often suggest that people draw their own conclusions about everything... After all, nobody sees the world with your eyes!!!
Back up the folder with your logins. Install the current version and test it. If you do not like it, uninstall it and reinstall the previous version.

Personally, although I continue to download Roboform, I used it once about 6 months ago for a while and found it a great pw utility but it began to p*ss me off when it kept changing position on my browser which is Firefox - always up to date.. I originally got it to appear underneath the toolbar and above the bookmark bar at the top of the browser and stopped it from appearing at the bottom of the browser (default position), then after some time suddenly it began appearing at the bottom again and would also appear at the top for a brief time each time I opened Firefox and then disappear after a few uses,, then it simply vanished from the top of the browser altogether and would only show at the bottom.. I reinstalled twice but no difference,, it happened all over again.. Time to uninstall.. I still download and keep an eye on its performance and it still seems to be having all sorts of littles niggles all the time with different users,, meanwhile I'm in limbo and can't quite bring myself to install it again.. Maybe one day.. I mean, it's a great utility,, but now I have now begun using FF's built-in pw controller and, hey, I also like this.. Built-in, simple, effective, never eff's up.. I could find myself actually just sticking to it...
