wallofasgard
Good day to all of nsaners, i am in need of your insights regarding this old HP laptop or notebook of ours. This laptop is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium and we wanted to upgrade it to Windows 10 Redstone 1.But what's preventing us from doing so is our uncertainty if this laptop hardwares are really qualified for the W10 upgrade especially the Display adapters and its drivers. 5 days ago we decided to give it a try and upgrade it to windows 10.Everything went smoothly for all of its drivers in Device Manager except for this: As per suggestion of davendranath we used drivermax to download all of its updated drivers but it didnt fix the problem.Driver max did download the display drivers but we can see that it is not working for some reasons because of the current state of desktop resolution( it only stayed at 1024x768 max).We try to do a Windows update next and yes it somehow downloaded the drivers but after a restart after driver installation it wont even boot to desktop. We do a system restore afterwards. So we decided to take it to a nearest computer repair shop.To our dismay, they also cant fix our problem with the display adapters even after using Driver Pack Solution. They even insist us to revert it back to Windows 7 for they say that the hardware perhaps is not compatible with W10 OS. And so we did... and after that they use the Driver Pack Solution again and they managed to get this far: Now they don't want to touch our laptop. They told us to find the missing driver on the internet but we cant find the right one. Then out of some tip we did this: and after that we got this: And we thought we managed to fix it finally but when we are starting the AMD catalyst we are getting this: We need your help guys with some things.. ONE is about driver back-up software. We are planning to back-up the current drivers and install it again after we upgrade it to Windows 10 ..will it work that way?TWO is about our laptop specifications,is it compatible with windows 10 or we should stay with Windows 7? here is the speccy result of the specifications: Im sorry for such a lengthy story but we will appreciate any inputs. Thanks and have a good and safe weekend everyone. dezsez
Certain AMD drivers and Windows 10 can be a right pain and its best to let Windows 10 update to install them, DON'T use any other programs to find drivers you may make it worse, Just keep checking Windows update,If a driver is missing it will install it. If you find it difficult to find them, remove the battery and write down the serial number / product number of the product. Go to this page, insert it - just one of them - and have the support page for your notebook... Report your findings back...

PriSim
First read this KB article as this article is much important before proceeding further with drivers, http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Win10-Driver-Support.aspx If you get your hardware in compatibility list than go to this driver download link and try to use AUTOMATICALLY detection system for drivers. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download I am pretty much sure you will get your hardware working ! Our test machines are Dells with Nvidia and Intel GPUs and we have no problem using either and switching between them. Just don't use Microsoft provided drivers. 5 hours ago, dezsez said: Certain AMD drivers and Windows 10 can be a right pain and its best to let Windows 10 update to install them, DON'T use any other programs to find drivers you may make it worse, Just keep checking Windows update,If a driver is missing it will install it. Wrong answer. Microsoft drivers are the problem 99.9% of the time. Use drivers provided by the manufacturer of either the graphics card or of the laptop, but never drivers provided by Microsoft. 1 hour ago, knowledge said: i think its best to stay with windows 7 I think knowledge is one smart person and provided the only logical answer. We have spent over a year testing Windows 10 and still haven't even considered deploying it as an upgrade for existing systems. Did I mention that we are looking at a RFP for over 15,000 MacBook Pro, 3600 iMac and 1500 MacPRO to replace all our Windows systems.

wallofasgard
Thank you very much everyone for your time...unfortunately after looking into @WALLONN7, @PriSim and @sudoku 's suggestion we found out that HP's driver support for our model are for windows 7 and 8 only.If we are to push the Windows 10 upgrade then we will need to find drivers that are not officially supported by HP.And we cant blame anyone than ourselves for insisting if those drivers fails on our machine. The complete model of our notebook is HP Pavilion dv4-3107tx Entertainment Notebook PC. Product Name LZ727PA#UUF Serial Number 4CZ1191MMD I am considering it solved now but if anyone could gave me a specific link to its W10 display drivers for testing we would really appreciate it .
