LeeSmithG
Might be a memory blank, however some help will be appreciated please. I updated sound drivers, they are mobo related. I have my headphones plugged in and I get sound via the speakers too. Had this before and forgot how to correct problem. Can anyone help me sort out sound NOT to come out of speakers when head phone jack is being used.

That is what I have done in the past via the notification area. In the control panel there is no realtek control applet, just a via one that does not open. I have searched high and low for the realtek audio manager and found squat. Any ideas? F.E.I. I had this problem before and just installed previous drivers and it corrected itself, however the previous drivers are old and I can't find them. Administrator DKT27 Posted December 14, 2016 Administrator Share Posted December 14, 2016 Open VIA HD Audio Deck from the tray > press on the Advanced Options icon on the way below on the right, next to the Information icon > select Independent Headphone or when Redirected Headphone is selected > select When plug in Headphone, Mute Speaker option. See if that works for you there.

When I navigate to this file and open it, it crashes: C:\Program Files (x86)\VIA\VIAudioi\VDeck\MaxxAudioControl64 I have checked in, right click task bar > properties > customise > notification area; it has never appeared in the notification area so I found. It once did maybe a few years ago.

Instead, click on either VDeck or VDeck2. Either one of them should work I think.

My son has the same sound drivers on his PC and in the notification area is the realteck icon, orangey-red. Works perfectly fine.
