Knightmare
I'm not sure if this is possible; I like Cyberlink PD, but I don't like QT installed with it. Unfortunately, it seems that the install is mandatory--according to the install file--but the uninstall is simple. My question is, on what does Cyberlink rely? If it just needs the codec files, then I should just be able to use K-Lite to fix this. If it ACTUALLY needs the full install, then okay. I just wanna know how it works so that I might be able to save some space--not to mention QT is contracted with Apple software, which I do not need. sefton22
while QT isn't need unless you need to import .MOV files, SmartSound won't work without QT, Apple are not longer issuing security updates for the windows version http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/21012.page;jsessionid=392F5E4E712204030344224EC5B1AD8D http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/48135.page http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/48133.page
straycat19
From Apple's web site Quote QuickTime 7 for Windows is no longer supported by Apple. New versions of Windows since 2009 have included support for the key media formats, such as H.264 and AAC, that QuickTime 7 enabled. All current Windows web browsers support video without the need for browser plug-ins. From Homeland Security Quote The Department of Homeland Security and a top cybersecurity firm have advised Windows PC users to uninstall Apple's Quicktime video player immediately I suggest you find something that doesn't require QT on your system. Security should trump (damn I love that word) everything, including whether you really like the software or not, unless you also LIKE to be hacked. If you make a program, I don't expect you to rely on other programs so that your company can succeed. If this program is in question, I don't like that. I know that the program works with codecs. I use k-lite, so do I need QT?
