Too much complicated for me to use this. My intention was to block access from Microsoft Windows Update to avoid the Upgrade of Windows 10 Home Edition (x64) to v.10.1607., but can`t do it...

i think it can block windows updates

or can use reg to block updates

To make this change with Regedit,  following key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

Important: If that key doesn't exist, you'll need to create it.

Create a DWORD value called DisableOSUpgrade and set it to 1. (If that sentence makes no sense, you probably shouldn't be using Regedit.)

Here's what it looks like.

Second step: Make the GWX icon, with its nagging notifications, vanish from the taskbar.

To do that, you need to create the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GWX

Again, if this key doesn't exist, you need to create it.

Then create a DWORD value called DisableGWX and set it to 1, like so:

Restart your computer and the GWX icon should be gone. I've tested this procedure on multiple installations of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 with no problems.

You can automate the process by saving the necessary registry changes to files that you execute by clicking and running from an account with administrator rights.

Here's the first file, which I saved as DisableOSUpgrade.reg:

"DisableOSUpgrade"=dword:00000001

The second file is DisableGWX.reg:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GWX]

"DisableGWX"=dword:00000001

Both files are available from this link. They're plain text files, so you can inspect them before running. Download the two files and run each one from an account that is signed in with administrative rights.

If you change your mind and decide you want to upgrade to Windows 10 after all, you can reverse those two settings by changing the 1 to 0 using Registry Editor. But there's really no need to do that. Instead, go to Microsoft's Get Windows 10 page and click Upgrade Now, which skips the Windows Update step and lets you upgrade on your own schedule.

Good work @knowledge , however I decided the Upgrade to version 1607 and although it took 3 hours + 1 hour for Disk Cleanup and some other arrangements, now I have Windows much lighter and faster, occupying less space.

Now i'm stuck having  too block trough the exe  ips in default windows firewall again for things that need internet tell someone explains how it can be done in  this new version ?

when you put the ip in  name nothing shows up in ipv4/6  like the old version  i try to stick ip like above in ipv4/6  and it's not blocking it . Windows firewall is working with outbound  blocking turned on for this  and W10FWC  works fine for everything else.

just for any i need too block you can block ips in any app  trough the exe in old versions it no longer works . they messed it up in v8

 

1.Make a new zone  and name it too you're program

2. use any program  and add it too that zone you made and try to block the ips from it as anyname shows

3, not working in v8

Let me know if you  figure  out how to do it , I'm still doing it but having to block the ips trough default Windows firewall  with outbound  turned on. I don't want install old version back really  witch i still have because they added telemetry  block to new version ,

i think i understand the problems now u say like this 

we have  had to change the program to  fix the program  and one thing is we have changed  or played with things so just maybe its the fix thats the problem

i  hate to say this but it  maybe  something we did   if this is the case its a bit of a problem  ill have to talk with RadiXX11

i can test the beta with the beta key  and see if  this my problem  i still have installer for the beta but i rather not use the beta unless i have too lol.

ill not lie i am unsure whats the problem till i talk with friend 

things u can do to help are work easyer is if someone like u try  this version and out fix and  if u can do like u want  then its us who did something wrong  with the fix

The crack is fine,  it's a great crack, good work  from you guys ! it was i had to fix my rules  by doing a restore to the beta  and reinstall  the final and repatch it,  i had somehow messed them up,  to much beta testing this app i guess? Only adding new zones was messed up and that's why  i didn't know.

 

the only thing  has changed  is now you need to put the  ip here  now with /32 behind the ip now were before it would add /32 for you .

 

Now i'm going import my rules in case they get messed up again  so i don't have do another restore lol

 

Edit : PS : My rules file is 1.17 MB  i have lot of rules i don't want to lose them. All this crap so i could  make a 30 day nag go away by blocking some ips lol.
