mona
I've never used ESET before. So decided to try it. Yesterday installed ESET Smart Security v.8 (not the current v.10), following opinions of some folks in this thread. My knowledge about ESS's functioning is yet not sufficient , so could someone tell me how to WHITELIST nsanedown.com for good ? Didn't found whitelisting functionality at all there. By now - to access nsanedown site I had to temporarily disable "web access protection" in Advanced settings ! I hope there must be some better solution though. The second question : ESS doesn't like nsanedown to the extent that it quarantined all internet links to this site on my comp. To make it even worse when I tried to restore them - they were immediately placed in quarantine again. Is it any way to curb a bit ESS's efforts to "protect" me ? Till now I failed to find them !!! PLEASE HELP !
WALLONN7
Hi, my dear friend @mona Try these steps.
steven36
Vernon 8 just enter Advanced setup , Web and email, Web access protection , URL address management and add *proxy.nsanedown.com* *www.nsanedown.com* *www.nsaneforums.com* *

steven36
Only the 3 I listed above is needed for nsane the rest you posted @12stones Is for TNOD she didn't ask how too exclude that yet lol. Since I installed NOD32 v8 on both my computers Ive only needed to use TNOD once I just disabled my AV got a key and re enabled it that was back at the end of July and still never needed new keys so no need excluding it. I only exclude the program it's self so NOD32 would not delete it,
Holmes
Adding a website exclusion should help like steventhirtysix said.
mona
Thank you @steven36 My bad !!! . I managed to go as far as "Web access protection". But failed to notice I can go even deeper in the menu (clicking "+"). That's why there was no place to place my exceptions. https://i.imgur.com/H8ZqBbg.jpg @WALLONN7 Thanks, but your instruction concerns email protection. It's a bit different stuff. Nice to see you though. ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Wait a moment, I inserted my exceptions as seen on the above screenshot, but nsanedown is still blocked. What on earth did I wrong this time ? steven36
I been using them since 2014 with no problems here or anywhere else I fond may be a false positive , If you're paranoid about sites you exclude you can also use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware v2 in real time as well i did that for awhile but now i just use just NOD32 v8 lol .Malwarebytes Anti-Malware v3 I dont know about running that one with another antivirus
Holmes
I was using eset nodthirtytwo eight then got a popup to upgrade my eset and clicked on upgrade and it worked this time last five times I tried to upgrade nothing happened. I looked in my eset nodthirtytwo nine and nsane down is not excluded and I can access it thats funny. You need to exclude it properly mona *nsanedown.com like that Im pretty sure. Yes this happens once every 30 days you just tell it no there's 2 Ips you can block in you're firewall that will stop this, also it will remove trial key watermarks, popups, and make keys last a little longer. Holmes
I know Im using the trial now when thats over Ill fix eset again. I think eset made it so you dont have to exclude eset in version nine of its software. For your information mona the current stable version of eset is version nine ten is beta. Check my screenshot above. Did I do something wrong ? If not why am I still getting this ? https://i.imgur.com/wIgTZkQ.jpg @steven36 I'm not paranoid. I'm on default settings. and nsanedown is the first exception I did. I don't know ESET at all. Never used it before. For last 7 years I had been using Emsisoft Antimalware without any problems. But run out of licences lately and decided it was time to change. Got the nice one year ESS license from @kasper and so I'm.

Holmes
Eset doesnt quarantine links it just blocks them and I would add any links that get blocked to website url exclusion list. I recommend you update to eset ess nine Im using esrt nodthirtytwo nine and I dont have to add url exclusions I checked to see if sites were excluded and there not and I can access nsane down (Im sorry its not the version that corrects that its the definition files.
